1330 Hours and Still Waiting For Wind in Neustadt

It's now 1330 hours and we're still waiting for the wind so we can completed the final two races of the Melges 24 Europeans here at Baltic Race Week in Neustadt. With a 1600 final cut off time the situation is becoming increasingly more tense. A few moments ago the race officer updated the sailors, telling them that there are just 3 knots of unstable wind on the race course at the present time. He also advised them that a final decision on whether to race will be taken at 1430 - one hour from now so all everyone can do is continue to wait!

As you can see from the picture above, which shows IMCA Chairman Henri Samuel and his team relaxing at the waterside and watching for wind, the crews are at least making the most of the delay by socialising at the lovely regatta centre, which is set up especially for this week.

We'll update you as soon as we know more.
