Ramp-Up to the 2008 Melges 24 U.S. Atlantic Coast Championship

he U.S. Melges 24 Class goes racing once again on 22-23 November in Tampa, Fla. for the 2008 Atlantic Coast Championship. Not only is this venue first class, the Davis Island Yacht Club is rolling out the red carpet for the grand finale of racing on North American Ranking schedule.

Tampa is a hot spot for Corinthian Melges 24 Competition. The entry deadline for Corinthian entries are Friday, 14 November. WEIGH-IN
The 2008 Melges 24 Atlantic Coast Championship is an International North American Ranking Event. Weigh-in will take place on Friday, 21 November at the Davis Island Yacht Club at noon.

2009 USMCA MEMBERSHIP
All boats must possess a current class membership. 2009 USMCA Memberships run from 15 October 2008 - 14 October 2009. Join The Class today and enjoy racing this fall, on through the winter and spring!

MEASUREMENT CERTIFICATES
A valid Melges 24 Measurement Certificate is the one piece of documentation that proves your boat race legal per the Equipment Rules of the Melges 24 class. Do you have a Measurement Certificate and is it stamped and signed by the USMCA? Is it your name, or a previous owner if it is used? Please e-mail Joy Dunigan, USMCA Executive Secretary today to confirm you have a valid certificate.

ACCOMMODATIONS
Florida is a great place to sail in the month of November, book your accommodations if you have not already. Regatta Chair George Haynie has been working hard to prepare for the fleet's arrival and he worked a sweet deal with the Westin Tampa Harbor Island Hotel. In order to receive the special Melges 24 rate you must book prior to 14 November.
