A record number of boats came to the event; 19 boats from 4 countries (15 Czech boats, 1 Italian, 2 German and 1 from Austria).

MELGES 24 SAILORS WIN 5.5 WORLDS 19 August 2008 - Congratulations to Melges 24 sailors Kristian Nergaard, Petrus Eide and Johan Barne of Norway on becoming the 5.5 Metre European Champions. This hugely experienced team beat an 18 strong fleet racing from the Aland Yacht Club in Finland.
