The final race of the series was hugely exciting as Burns and Field matched raced their way up the first beat fighting it out for the overall title. Field needed to get two boats between him and Burns to win and Burns was equally determined not to let him.

Rochester, NY, USA - 25 September 2010 - The sailors are enjoying the 2010 Melges 24 North American Championship in Rochester so much they don't want it to end! At the close of play yesterday seven races had been completed and with two days to go there were three more left to sail.

Good morning from day 3 in Rochester. This morning we have overcast skies and the temperature is dropping but it's still very pleasant and as the boats head out to the race course we have around 8 knots from the south.

Melges 24 racing just doesn't get better than this! Day two of the 2010 Melges 24 North American Championship in Rochester was a humdinger with three more amazing races in glorious sunshine and south-westerly winds ranging from 18-25 knots with occasional gusts up towards 30.

The 2010 Melges 24 North American Championship being hosted by the Rochester Yacht Club on Lake Ontario got off to a flying start with an opening day featuring clear blue skies, hot sunshine and a warm easterly wind that gradually built from six knots to around 17 knots through the day.
