Slingshot Powershot - Whitmyer Wins Melges 24 Sperry Charleston Race Week 2017

April 26, 2017 - Charleston, U.S. - Congratulations are in full order for a relatively new fleet member — Wes Whitmyer aboard SlingSHOT hailing from Stamford, CT is the Melges 24 overall division winner at 2017 Sperry Charleston Race Week. Travis Weisleder's Lucky Dog/Gill Race Team posed as Whitmyer's closest and toughest competition finishing in second. 

An even bigger applause goes to third place overall winner and Corinthian Melges 24 Sperry Charleston Race Week Champion Steve Suddath on 3 1/2 men. Suddath put two bullets into the competition to end up third overall, only to keep two other top ten Corinthian teams in good company. Chris Field's Leda came in at a fabulous fifth overall/second place Corinthian, and 2017 Corinthian National Champ KC Shannon on Shaka placed eighth overall to take third Corinthian.

Over the course of the weekend, a whopping 10 races were held with Whitmyer, Weisleder and Suddath duking it out. Whitmyer ended the event with a 9 point advantage.
