Brian Porter’s Full Throttle is the 2018 Melges 24 Sperry Charleston Race Week Champion

April 15, 2018 - Charleston, S.C., USA - There was an interesting dynamic taking place on the docks of Charleston Harbor Resort and Marina in the morning of last race day. Some of the boats competing in Sperry Charleston Race Week 2018 were getting ready to go racing with sailors pulling on foul weather gear in anticipation of heavy air and rough seas. Meanwhile, a bunch of other boats were in breakdown mode with sailors packing up gear and carrying sails down the dock.

Also today, fifteen participating teams from six countries concluded three regattas, despite the massive wind shift that forced the Race Committee to replace the race course after race number one of the day.

2018 Melges 24 European Sailing Series: A Sparkling Beginning for 2018 Season in Punta Ala

March 23, 2018 - Punta Ala, Italy -  The first event of 2018 Melges 24 European Sailing Series kicks off with lovely springy conditions that allowed the fifteen participating teams from six nations to start the season with a full day of sailing. Moderate breeze filled The Gulf of Follonica in the late morning and the fleet, under the superb coordination of PRO Alessandro Testa, completed three races, getting back to the moorings only in the late afternoon.

2018 Melges 24 European Sailing Series: Tuscany Welcomes the International Melges 24 Fleet

March 22, 2018 - Punta Ala, Italy - The sixth season of the Melges 24 European Sailing Series kicks off in Punta Ala, Italy this upcoming weekend. After being travelled all around the Europe during past years, 2018 season will concentrate in South joining five regattas of the Melges 24 Italian Tour, including the European Championship in Riva del Garda, and one regatta, which will be traditionally held in Portoroz, Slovenia.
