MELGES 24 WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP OFFERS EXCEPTIONAL SPONSHIP AND DONOR OPPORTUNITIES

As outlined in previous articles, the rescheduled 2001 Melges 24 World Championship will be held in association with Terra Nova Trading / Yachting Key West Race Week from January 20-25, 2002. We need your help in identifying commercial sponsor and private donor prospects to fund separate Worlds components and social functions.

Among the items we wish to fund are an improved launching facility with floating pontoons at the Truman Annex facility, a fitting World Championship social programme, dedicated press boats for the Melges 24 race course, additional daily and series prizes, to name but a few.

One of the notable advantages of holding our championship in association with Key West Race Week is that it significantly increases the exposure our sponsors and class will achieve. A far larger number of the sailing press will be on site than we would expect to see at a stand-alone event and the sponsor's message will reach numerous other fleets in addition to the Melges 24 sailors.

With the generous support of Premiere Racing, we have been able to develop a series of sponsorship and donor packages to suit every budget and promotional requirement, each of which offer an excellent range of benefits. Sponsor levels start at just US$2,000 and go right up to a full Title Sponsorship of the Melges 24 World Championship.

Because of the unexpected late change in venue we really do need your assistance to secure additional funding. If you can assist personally as a patron, have a company which would consider a sponsorship position or suggestions concerning individuals or organisations for us to follow up with, please contact us as soon as possible. Full details of all sponsor and donor opportunities can be obtained from Fiona Brown via E-mail or Tel +44 7711 718470.
