Destination Norway – summer racing is on, Hankø Race Week 2014!

Since the introduction of the Melges 24 class in Norway the last week of June there has been racing at the Island of Hankø. For several years this has been the venue for the Norwegian National championships. Therefore it's a pleasure to see that the participant list for this edition shows 22 entries from 3 countries.

Contending for the podium places are normally NOR732 Herman Horn Johannessen and NOR751 Storm Capital Racing. However there are several boats that can be on contention. The venue that was included in last year Melges 24 European Sailing Series has a reputation to give the sailors good conditions.

The racing days are June 26-29 and the racing is scheduled to start each day at 12:00 with an aim to run 10 races for the class. There will be one discard from the series after 5 completed races.

A regular highlight of this regatta is the social program. Hankø Yacht Club is offering food and drinks, only footsteps away from the boats, after racing. The cocktail party for the class always has great attendance.
