Net Development-Blizzard Wins Czech Nationals
The 2009 Czech Melges 24 Championship was held at the biggest lake in the Czech Republic – Lipno. 12 teams took part including 1 Austrian and 1 Slovenian team. This year the weather conditions were excellent - sunny and windy. The participants enjoyed racing in a wind of 5-12 knots for the first 2 days of the event. The last day concluded the Championship with very light wind and though only one race could be completed. The course of the event was very exciting and the results were very tight. After 3 days of sailing and 9 races team Net Development Blizzard became the Czech Champion. The runner up, team ICZ, finished only one point behind the winners. Team RADOST had been improving during the whole event and managed to slip through into the third place just in front of FINEP, followed by the Austrian entry, Franz Rocks.
The Czech Association is looking forward to stronger entry next year. The Championship will take place at the same place, nearly at the same time.
