Altea ITA722, the roadrunner
May 31, 2021 - Talamone, Italy - 2021 Melges 24 Italian National Championship was held on May 21-23, 202, hosted by the Circolo Della Vela Talamone, in Talamone, Italy.
Those who missed ACT 2 have lost a great opportunity not being able to enjoy sailing on a very interesting race course surrounded by a breathtaking view.
Once again Andrea Racchelli beats the standings with 7 points out of 5 races, a result that allows Altea to return ashore before the last race. Behind him, the rapidly growing of GER-673 owned by Peter Karrié, Taki 4 ITA-778 handled by Giacomo Fossati's team, first in the Corinthian Division, is fast but with some uncertainty between the tricky wind puffs. The passage of a weather system on Saturday with a wind between 25 and 30 knots made the race course even more interesting, an hard job for the tacticians.
Thanks to the Circolo della Vela Talamone for the excellent work, to the President of the Race Committee Gabriella Gabbrielli, to the President of the Protest Committee Giuseppe D'Amico, vice President of the Italian Sailing Federation and to all the volunteers who offered their time and skills.
