Dear Melges 24 Teams,

It is with great disappointment that the difficult decision has been made to cancel the 2020 Melges 24 U.S. National Championship originally scheduled for October 15-18 at Tred Avon Yacht Club.

This decision has been made based on regulations limiting the size of events and the perceived risks of travelers to the elderly community in Oxford, MD. We continue to be optimistic and pray that the situation surrounding COVID-19 improves.

Please know that your board is working hard, exploring options for a safe return to conducting our Class championships. I am confident that we will be on the same starting line soon. In the meantime, stay healthy and safe.

The RC will plan to run up to 3 races each day, however, 4 races per day may be run to anticipate future weather disruptions or to make up for races not sailed during previous days. At no time will the total number of races be more than one race more than the schedule of three races per day.
